About IMDbPlay

IMDbPlay started as a small browser extension for people who were tired of paying for four subscriptions just to finish one show. The extension worked well on laptops, but it was limited to one source and mostly English titles. IMDbPlay Web is the next step: it runs on any phone, tablet, laptop or smart TV browser, carries more than ten streaming servers, supports multi language audio and makes finding a title much faster.

It is built and maintained by Sannjay. Title information, posters and ratings come from the TMDB catalogue. Playback comes from public third party stream providers.

The interface is a React application using TanStack Start and TanStack Router with server side rendering, so pages load fast and are readable by search engines. Metadata is fetched from the TMDB API and cached in the browser with TanStack Query.

The player is trailer first: while a stream source warms up you can already watch the official trailer. Behind it sits a numbered server list. If a server does not respond within a few seconds, the player moves to the next one automatically. Servers one to five play inline, the remaining ones open in a clean full screen view because those providers refuse restricted frames.

Your Wishlist and Continue Watching history stay on your own device in browser storage. There is no account, and we do not build a profile of what you watch.

IMDbPlay does not host, upload, store or transmit any video files. No content is stored on our servers. The site is an index and a viewer for streams that are already publicly available on third party hosts.

All copyright complaints must be sent to the actual file host that serves the stream, since only they can remove the file. If you believe a link on IMDbPlay points to infringing material, contact us through the request and report page with the exact page URL and the details of the work, and we will remove the reference from our index.

We do not ask you to register, and we do not collect names, emails or payment details for normal browsing. Your Wishlist, theme choice and watch history are stored only in your own browser storage and never leave your device.

We keep a simple, anonymous visitor count for the site. If you submit a request or a report, only the text you type and an optional nickname are stored, so we can answer it. Third party stream providers and embedded players are separate services with their own policies and may set their own cookies or show their own ads. We do not control them, which is why we recommend using an ad blocker.

IMDbPlay is provided free of charge and as is, with no guarantee of uptime, availability of any particular title, or stream quality. Servers are operated by third parties and can change or disappear at any time.

By using the site you agree to use it for personal viewing only, to follow the laws that apply where you live, and to not misuse, scrape or resell the service. Any advertisement, popup or redirect that appears inside a player comes from that third party provider, not from IMDbPlay, and we are not responsible for it.
